The collaboration with the founder was an exhilarating journey, fueled by our shared passion for the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Upon deciding to leave the franchise system, the founder was determined to establish a unique brand of Sichuan-style braised delicacies.
Sichuan Chongqing Mala (numbing and spicy) tang is a legendary destination for hotpot and braised food enthusiasts. Historically, the Kingdom of Shu (led by Liu Bei) was built on the principles of benevolence and righteousness. It was after Liu Bei entered the Shu region that the foundation for reviving the Han Dynasty was laid. Drawing inspiration from this epic era, the design philosophy and visual elements of the brand are entirely rooted in the aesthetics and spirit of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
I vividly remember a lighthearted yet confident promise I made to the founder during our discussion: "You master the seasoning of the cuisine; I'll master the vision that makes them remember you."
